Nalo! The Baby Giraffe.(part 1)

Most of the information was gathered from the official Night Safari Singapore site

December 5, 2011, baby Nalo was welcomed by Night Safari Singapore. Here is his birth certificate:
Birth height:1.88m
Birth weight:75kg
Birth time:8.40am
Birthmark:Extreme cuteness on his face

Nalo playing with his tongue.

His mummy, Dobeni, gave birth to him standing up and when he popped out, he dropped almost 2 metres down to the ground! Not to worry though, this is normal for giraffes and Nalo got up onto his feet in a jiffy. The keepers named him "Nalo" which means 'lovable' in Swahili (an African language).
Nalo's been doing a lot of growing lately. He loves snuggling up to mummy and he is still suckling for now. Our lanky 'little' guy enjoys galloping around the compound too. We are not sure where he got it from, but he's picked up the curious habit of playing with his tongue by swiveling it in the air every now and then. (He sounds adorable!)
Nalo laps up a lot of attention from his family and friends around him - mummy Dobeni, daddy Pongola, his big sister Kayin, as well as his zookeeper friends at Night Safari. Dobeni and Pongola arrived from South Africa in 1993. Nalo's sister, Kayin, only came along in 2008".
